Konzentration ist ein psychologisches Konstrukt, das hochkomplexe Interaktions- Situations-Phänomene bezeichnet. Die hohe Komplexität läßt unmittelbare Folgerungen für therapeutische Maßnahmen nicht zu und enthält spezielle Probleme der Validität bei niedrigen Leistungswerten in Tests. Die Diagnose von Konzentrationsproblemen dient nicht selten Lehrern, Schülern und Eltern als Entlastung. Dabei führen oberflächliche Analysen oft zu Mißverständnissen und Fehldiagnosen. Bei solchen Diagnosen werden dann Konzentration, Interesse, Motivation, Belastbarkeit, "aus dem Felde gehen" und "auswandern" konfundiert. Ohne sorgfältige und möglichst umfassende Analyse der Aufmerksamkeitssituation können Maßnahmen zur Beseitigung oder Reduktion der Schwierigkeiten nicht effektiv ausgewählt werden.

Concentration is a psychological construct characterizing highly complex phenomena of interaction-situation. This high complexity does not allow direct deductions to be used for therapeutical measures and contains special problems of validity when low test ranges occur. Frequently the diagnosis of a weakness in concentration is used to relieve teachers, pupils and parents. Due to this superficial analyses often lead to misunderstandings and wrong diagnoses. In such diagnoses concentration, interest, motivation, stress capacity, "leaving the field" and "emigration" are confused with one another. Measures for removal or reduction of concentration deficits cannot be chosen in an effective manner without an analysis of the situation in which attention is being payed - an analysis as careful and as extensive as possible.
